The Three-Year Program in Logic and Debate, first established in 2020 at the Lama Tzong Khapa Institute<\/strong> (Italy), is a three-year program designed to teach the Buddhist art of debate <\/strong>\u2014 a sophisticated practice that originated at the renowned N\u0101land\u0101 University<\/strong> in India around the 5th century CE and later developed in the Tibetan monastic universities, where it remains central to their pedagogy to this day.<\/p>

In this tradition, debate is considered an essential tool for gaining a deep understanding of the Buddhist teachings<\/strong> and for further developing one\u2019s meditative practice as a result<\/strong>.<\/p>

Debate invites us to recognize both the strengths and vulnerabilities of our logical reasoning, the limited \u2014 yet necessary \u2014 nature of conceptual thought<\/strong>, and ultimately to turn that very conceptuality against itself<\/em> in a process of deconstruction<\/strong> that can reveal the truth beyond it.<\/p>

In addition to holding a central place on the Buddhist path, the practice of debate serves as a powerful tool for sharpening critical thinking, cultivating active listening<\/strong>, and engaging with one\u2019s own assumptions \u2014 both explicit and implicit.<\/p>

The Program is primarily offered online<\/strong>, is available in both English<\/strong> and Italian<\/strong>, and includes the option of attending in-person intensives<\/strong> at major Buddhist institutions in Italy and India.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
