The Research Center
of the Italian Buddhist Union
promotes dialogue with the academic world, education, and university research, connecting Buddhist traditions with contemporary knowledge.
We imagine a world where social change arises from a transformation of knowledge: a plural and inclusive knowledge, rooted in interdependence, capable of placing life and consciousness at the center. In this vision, Buddhism is not just a spiritual tradition, but a lens through which to rethink the fundamental questions of humanity, contributing to a more conscious, ethical, and transformative understanding.
Activities
Focuses on the historical, philosophical, and textual analysis of Buddhist traditions, with an interdisciplinary and comparative approach.
An interdisciplinary field that investigates contemplative practices, their transformative effects, and the experiential knowledge they generate, with applications in scientific, educational, clinical, and social contexts.
This area brings together cross-disciplinary research on major contemporary themes – from ecology to artificial intelligence, from consciousness to the transformation of knowledge – examined in light of Buddhist traditions in dialogue with the sciences and the humanities.
