What we do
Our goals
The main goals of the Study Center are:
- To promote research activities that foster dialogue between Buddhist traditions and modern sciences.
- To support academic education, both theoretical and practical, on topics related to Buddhism and its applications in the contemporary context.
- To encourage the dissemination of Buddhist knowledge from an intercultural and interdisciplinary perspective, with particular attention to sustainability and ethics.
- To build and strengthen networks of collaboration among scholars, institutions, and Buddhist communities.

Areas of Focus
The Study Center operates across various disciplinary fields, including:
- Buddhist Studies: in-depth exploration of the theoretical and practical heritage of Buddhist traditions.
- Contemplative Studies: research and development of contemplative methods applicable in therapeutic, psychological, educational, and professional contexts.
- Critical Futures: cross-disciplinary research on major contemporary issues, examined through the lens of Buddhist traditions in dialogue with the sciences and the humanities.
Working Method
Our approach is based on an ongoing dialogue between East and West, between tradition and innovation. We employ interdisciplinary research methods that combine the history of Buddhist traditions, cognitive science, philosophy, psychology, and neuroscience, with the goal of developing new tools to understand the mind and address contemporary challenges.
