The Department of Asian and North African Studies at Ca' Foscari University of Venice is organizing a new series of meetings within the South-Asian Linguistics Meeting Series, dedicated to Buddhist philology and linguistics across India and China.
The series hosts international scholars focusing on the adoption of Sanskrit, the linguistic polyphony of early Buddhism, and the Gandhārī language.

- December 9, 2025, 5:00 pm: Stefan Baums (Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München) – The Gandhārī Language: Sources, Structure, and History
- December 16, 2025 (time TBA) Francesco Barchi (Universiteit Leiden) – Beyond the Gandhārī Hypothesis
