On Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30 p.m., the web meeting “Buddhism and Complexity in Dialogue” will take place. The event is organized by the Complexity Institute in collaboration with Il Cerchio Monasteries and Zen Centers and the UBI Research Center.
The meeting opens the 2026 series “Buddhism and Complexity”, dedicated to the dialogue between complex thinking and Buddhist perspectives, with the aim of offering interpretive tools for understanding processes of change and the uncertainty of the present.
The dialogue will be moderated by Dario Simoncini, Vice-President of the Complexity Institute. Speakers will include Marinella De Simone, President of the Complexity Institute, and Chiara Mascarello, researcher in Tibetan Buddhist Studies at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and collaborator of the UBI Research Center.
This event inaugurates a cycle of four evening online meetings, conceived as a progressive path of exploration of some key themes of complexity, from non-linearity to sustainability and uncertainty, leading up to the residential workshop “Buddhism and Complexity”, scheduled from June 12 to 14, 2026, at the SanboJi Zen Monastery in Berceto.
Participation is free, with mandatory registration via Eventbrite. After registration, participants will receive an e-mail with the Zoom access link on the day of the event.
