L’Incertezza è… Buddhismo e complessità in dialogo

Buddhism and Complexity in Dialogue: Fourth Meeting of the 2026 Series

On Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from 9:00 to 10:30 p.m., the web meeting “Uncertainty Is… Dwelling in the Unpredictable between Complexity and Buddhist Vision” will take place. This will be the fourth and final event in the series “Buddhism and Complexity in Dialogue”, organized by the Complexity Institute in collaboration with the UBI Research Center and Il Cerchio Monasteries and Zen Centers.

The meeting will explore the relationship between complex thinking and Buddhist perspectives, starting from a theme that is central to both visions: uncertainty as a fundamental condition of life, natural systems, human relationships, and social processes.

The dialogue will be moderated by Dario Simoncini, Vice-President of the Complexity Institute and former Professor of Complexity Management and Business Organization at the University of Pescara. Speakers will include Giuseppe Zollo, one of the most significant figures in complexity thinking in Italy, and Rev. Carlo Tetsugen Serra, abbot of the SanboJi Zen Monastery and spiritual guide of the Il Cerchio community.

This event concludes the series launched in recent months, which has brought complexity and Buddhism into dialogue through themes such as interdependence, non-linearity, karma, causality, sustainability, and social engagement. At the same time, it opens directly onto the residential workshop “Buddhism and Complexity”, scheduled from June 12 to 14, 2026, at the SanboJi Zen Monastery in Berceto, and dedicated precisely to the theme of uncertainty.

Participation is free, with mandatory registration via Eventbrite. Once registered, participants will receive an e-mail with the Zoom access link on the day of the event.
