On Thursday, June 11, 2026, the study day “Philosophy and Interculturality between Europe and Asia: The Legacy of Giangiorgio Pasqualotto” will take place in Room E of Palazzo del Bo in Padua. The event will be dedicated to the figure and intellectual legacy of the philosopher.
The initiative will offer an opportunity to remember Giangiorgio Pasqualotto through a dialogue among scholars who shared, crossed, or further explored his research path. The day will focus on some of the key themes of his work: intercultural dialogue between Europe and Asia, comparative philosophy, the relationship between Western thought and Eastern philosophical traditions, and the perspectives opened up by an interdisciplinary approach to research.
After the welcome and institutional greetings, given by Vincenzo Milanesi, former Rector of the University of Padua, and Antonio Da Re, coordinator of the Philosophy Section of the FISPPA Department, the day will be structured around two sessions of presentations.
The first session, moderated by Marcello Ghilardi, will feature presentations by Emanuela Magno, Alberto Giacomelli, Silvia Capodivacca, and Federica Negri. In the afternoon, the second session, moderated by Alberto Giacomelli, will continue with presentations by Martino Dalla Valle, Chiara Mascarello, Francesco Tormen, and Marcello Ghilardi.
The study day will conclude with a round table, moderated by Emanuela Magno and Marcello Ghilardi, with contributions from Massimo Cacciari, Amina Crisma, Umberto Curi, and Giuseppe Duso, and with the participation in the discussion of Andrea Altobrando, Chiara Cremonesi, Emma Lavinia Bon, Giulia Cervato, Tommaso Furlan, Marco Gazza, Cristina Tanghetti, and Alessandro Tessari.
The scientific organization is curated by Marcello Ghilardi and Emanuela Magno.
